I did not expect Rina Cossack to turn up at the Warsaw Fashion Weekend, as I thought it would be less known brands who would be making their first appearances on the Polish market. And yet, it was Rina Cossack, Sabrina Pilewicz and the German designer Michael Michalsky who caught the most attention in their designs. Although Michael Michalsky is very well known, I preferred the Rina Cossack collection, which seemed to stay on the right side of fashionable.
With this seasons wonderful colours, such as ochre, burnt umber, orange, cobalt, deep emerald and grass green, Rina Cossack has truly turned her designs into a wonderful collection. Here is an interview with the store assistant and exposer of the clothes at WFW.
ZZ: Could you tell us what you think are the most important features of this collection?
SA: The Rina Cossack collection has been updated to the previous collection, incorporating colours from the autumn and winter colour schemes, such as a more burnt orange (seen at the runways of Burberry) ochre, emerald and a deep grass green. The cuts are also much simpler compared to the previous collection, incorporating far thicker materials appropriately to the weather. As is typical of Rina Cossack, ruffles become one the more important parts when it comes to the the detail. In fact, ruffles in some cases take over the outfit, as is the case with the grass green coat.
ZZ: What is the centre piece for this collection?
SA: A large impact is put on colour, especially when it comes to the green, emerald and cobalt blue. When it comes to the cobalt blue, thick wool is out of the question, and is instead taken over by thin silks and chiffons, which elongate the figure. Cobalt is truly the colour of the season, and has major attributes as it pairs to any skin tone and any hair colour.
ZZ: Do you think that colour blocking is the way forward this season?
SA: As with summer, colour blocking is very much in style now. Moved onto thick wools and furs, the colours literally take on a different dimension!
ZZ: Thank you for your answers, hope to see you soon!
