Versace- Who is not talking about it?

When in 1997 Donatella Versace took over the reigns of the fashion house after her brother’s sudden death, the brand was literally led from one strength to another. Since then, the woman has lead to the creations of new trends- if not for Donatella and the Versace Green Dress, what would Jennifer Lopez have worn for the famous Grammys in 2000? She also pursued the idea of creating super models- highly recognisable, individual girls who take the fashion world by storm.

To Donatella, we owe the amazing array of dresses worn by the most characteristic and loud of stars- Beyonce, Madonna, Christina Aguilera all love the bright and sparkly designs of the house of Versace which attract any magpie fashionistas like diamonds. For yet another strength- creating the collaboration between Versace and the high street clothing giant H& M, we thank Donatella, and hope for more in the future.

Don’t agree with that. My nephew is an executive at Versace in Miami and he thinks the whole company is going downhill. I believe the sudden interest in Versace in the late 90s, early 2000s was due to Gianni’s murder. Versace is a fashion house in decline.

I also think that the house of Versace had a lot of publicity due to the murder of Gianni, but for a brand still to be led after that, especially since Versace is a family fashion house, is undeniably incredible. I approve a lot of the coalitions between H&M and the big fashion houses, although the collections themselves are sometimes a bit less than what is expected I think by the public who see the designer clothes quite regularly, and that is what mainly took me to write the post- even with the sometimes negative press opinions that Donatella has, I still think her as an empowering woman.
