Rule no. 1- No stress

Working at the Glamour Styling workshops was always some kind of an aspiration- before, at the Fashion Journalism, I learnt a lot, but frankly, made no progress. After creating Stylion and Sparkle my work took a life of its own… Let me show you the more successful workshops, with pretty shoots, make up creation and other female dreams.

From the first day, everything is hectic. With lectures on the dot on every hour and a crazy amount of tasks, my hands were more than full (yes, even with the shoes and clothes and jewelry provided by the Aliganza showroom). Hearing Bartek Michalec talk about the evolution his brand Zuo Corp. had undertaken during these last two years was astounding,  and the lovely girls from the Glamour Styling team helped any nervous first-years exactly how they should- by offering tricks of the trade to the hungry listeners! There is nothing quite like creating that first mood board that you know will precede the first semi-professional fashion shoot in your life. You feel like a five year old telling her friends to dress up in her mum’s old heels… and with the excitability of one, it is hard to keep everything under reign.

So, back to the shoot- with the photographers chatting in french and the hair stylists backcombing, treating, tugging and pulling at the poor girl’s hair, we finally achieved an effect which was more than satisfying. Thrilled, we went back upstairs to lie down and play with the butter soft furs from Andrzej Jedynak. And so ended our first day, but the two after that passed equally quickly.

With lecture talks spanning from Male Fashion to the Design of Shop Window Displays, the range covered every part of fashion a future stylist would do. We also got a hand at creating TV program style inspired by Once Upon a Time, with ludicrous results, but managed to stay serious when designing a window display for teenagers in under five minutes. I think the importance of time in this undertaking is what I should really focus on- the tasks had to be done within fifteen minutes each, and with a thrown together group, it could have been less than easy.

Luckily, the ladies of Aliganza and Glamour were always there to help, and it is them I thank for the precise organisation and wonderful prize from Goldwell and KMS California.
