Lightning Fashion Interview with Peony Lim

Peony Lim does not only pull off her flawless makeup – she also has an impeccable sartorial style to match. After finishing the London University of Arts with a degree in Fashion Promotion, she set up a blog, inspired by how many photos were taken of her while at university. Since then, she has been featured in top fashion magazines such as Vogue, Elle and Glamour. Her impeccable style mixing vintage and classic items have created a whole legion of followers. Here, she answers your questions!

S: “What was the event in your life that sparked your love for fashion and styling?”

P: “I don’t think there was one, I just always loved clothes. I would change my outfit constantly as a child.”

S: “What photo style best describes your photographs?”

P: “Oh I don’t know. I think they are constant work in progress, but I would like them to be somewhere between reality and fantasy.”

S: “What item, in your opinion, completes an outfit?”

P: “Your hair and your bag.”

S: “You achieve the poised and polished look in every photo. Are there any secrets to this look?”

“Good grooming and I don’t just mean your body, a good clean outfit with the use of an iron goes a long way.”

S: “Where do you get inspiration from?”

P: “Everything, but always my mother.”

S: “What is your fail-safe outfit?”

“Jeans, a white oversized shirt super high black pumps and a blazer.”

“After studying at the University of Arts and the Courtauld Institute your interest in other areas of fashion and art must have broadened. Except for styling, what else do you do?”

“I work as a brand consultant and I blog full time.”
