Fashion Week Poland: Bizuu

I don’t like black. It’s not a fad, that I can’t stand that it sucks the colour out of the skin and the eyes and that there is no way I can wear the white jeans that have crept into my wardrobe in stealthy steps this season. So when I see it on the catwalks, I usually run. Or at least scrunch my nose.

With the Bizuu collection at Poland fashion Week, I could not believe just how much black there was! And it seemed strangely refreshing and light. With delicate skirts and ruffles, it gained a new edge, which instantly started speaking to me in soft feminine french whispers… The collection was very french, very chic, in fact…

Mais avant we get into the details, what exactly is Bizuu? An inspiring fashion company for women who like to mix in the true frivolity and feminine charm of the female into their wardrobe. With their growing addiction to pleating, ruffles and all things sweet, it’s surprising that they have climbed this far in the Polish fashion close knit of designers.

While most of their styles are light, the A/W ’12/13 collections are by nature darker and heavier due to the weight of each piece of clothing. After all, it is tweed and felt which are most used in the production of the no. 1 fashion staple – the coat! And Bizuu know how to create pieces which are both feminine and gently practical in the severe rain and snow.

With delicate lace pieces in feminine flowing shapes and dark coats with gentle ruffles at the hem, this could not have been a sweeter collection. And yet, the collection was made even sweeter by the little girl who came out after one of the models in a miniature Bizuu frock with an exaggerated bow on her head. Too sweet for words!

Not too sure about the ‘knee-pad’ look or the frills …. but thought the little girls looked cute in their outfits. Having not seen a show from Poland Fashion Week, it was nice to see what goes on, on the otherside of the world.

I think there is meant to be something different in a catwalk- an attention catcher, if you please. The workmanship of the dresses was good, and I loved the checkered dress! Hope you’ll find something good in the next posts! Thank you for the comment 🙂

Hey, I really liked what you had to say in your blog and looking forward to seeing future posts. I understand about the colour black … coming into winter here in NZ and my whole wardrobe has definately a dark look about it.
